Webinar: "The Future of Small Businesses in the Local and Global Market”

Conampe, along with prominent national and international institutions, has organized “the first international week of micro and small enterprises” from June 21st to the 25th at 7 PM, with the future of small businesses in the local and global market as the main theme of the online event. The event hosted expert speakers each day tackling new public policies to support small businesses. The event was instituted by the United Nations, which believes that these micro and small businesses to be “the backbone of most economies”, taking into consideration the key role they play in developing countries. According to the UN, these companies generate employment opportunities and income around the world, and have been identified as one of the main drivers of poverty reduction and societal development, and that they are the “key to creating the 600 million jobs needed by 2030 to keep up with the growth of the working-age population.” These SMEs mostly tend to employ people from underprivileged sectors such as women, youth, and people from poorer families and could be the only source of employment in many cities and rural areas.
